Many colleges offer individual classes and entire degree programs online. What are the advantages of online classes? Are there any disadvantages?

Pro’s- You have an easier time balancing your work schedule. You can take the work and do it on your time with a deadline.
Con's-You can forget about the class. It's easy to forget to hand in an assignment when you don't have a set time in your head, of when that class is.

  2. Well with online classes you can use your laptop for class almost anywhere you are so its flexible for people with busy work schedules. but theres no set time and no professor in person so it may be harder for those who are not organized

  3. Advantages to online classes are that one can do the work anywhere at anytime. It allows one to have more time with family and friends. Disadvantages are forgeting about assignments and distractions one might experience while doing them.

  4. Advantages are that student no where near a campus can get a degree as well as the working student as well the only downfall would be that people will cheat and get a degree and not know anything.

Pros- The best advantage of taking an online class is that (in my situation) you can take an online class and live somewhere else; for instance lets say you wanted to go to Germany to learn German, but you still wanted to go to school in Florida, then you can do you BC classes online and no one would know that you half the world away.

Cons- Alot more work and what if there is no internet access?

The advantages to being in an online class would be the comfort of being in your zone and all your materials are right there. There is no excuse to forgetting your book. You get you work time on your own time as long as it's by a deadline.

The disadvantages of online schooling would be not being able to working with your peers. You don't have that kind of one and one communication and it could be a work overload.

The advantages are you can work at your own pace. The disadvantages are that you can get lazy to do assignments and tired from staring at a computer for long hours.

  8. What I have learned is that the only advantage is you don't have to come to campus. The disadvantages list, from my experience, is very long; you must have the right software, you don't know until your grade comes out if you've had a problem with your submissions, internet connections, discipline, and the list can go on.

Pros-- you dont have to spend all that money on gas going from campus to campus instead you can take a class from home or anywhere (flexibility).

Cons--If you dont have some one there or an actuall class you usually prolong the suff till the date it is due.

  12. The advantages for taking an online class is that you can be at your house or a comfortable location, and you can save gas from drving to and from school and back.
The disadvantages would be that it is easy to forget to do your assignment, and sometimes questions get misinterpreted when they are typed instead of verbally asked.

  15. the advantage to online classes is that you don't have to leave your home and for the most part you can work at your own time. the disadvantage is that if your home computer is not working it becomes a problem.also if you are taking a test and your computer freezes. perrone

  16. I have been an online college student before,it only last 2 semesters. I totally hated the experience of it because a great deal of your grade depends on another student. For example, class team assignments are nearly 40 percent of your grade and if your classmate doesnt do their share your grade group project grade drops. The only advantage is that you can go at your own pace.-Joseph
